Ultimate Blog Party 2011 HERE I COME!!! (#UBP11)

Ultimate Blog Party 2011

So you’ll have to bare with me because I’ve never participated in the UBP before. Hopefully I get it all right!

Me? Well, I’m a USMC wife and SAHMommy blogger. I love to share my world with my readers. I have twin girls who just had their FIRST birthday a couple of weeks ago, and a son, who I need to stop calling a toddler since he’s about to turn 4. I love the military life, and moving around every 3 years or so.
I also REALLY enjoy baking and making all kinds of yummy food. Sweets are what I’m best at, although I do really love to bake breads as well. OH and I make a pulled pork that is to DIE for. :)
However, as you can see this is a specialty blog about making sushi for kids. Something I have recently become very passionate about. I love the idea of healthy eating, while making it interesting and fun for kids. Sushi (in it’s correct definition meaning sticky rice) really can be EASY to make, FUN for kids to eat, HEALTHY, and… drum roll… a great way to culturally broaden the your kids’ food pallets and tastes. Groovy right?
Other than that I don’t really know what to say about myself, but you are more than welcome to click on my ‘about’ page.

If you are a new follower from UBP11 please let me know so I can follow you back.

For those of you who are NOT from UBP (like my regular readers and/or fellow bloggers) and are wondering what this is all about, then please click the button above and head on over to 5minutesforMom.com. Great site!!! And not just for the party either. Janice and Susan (who are identical twins just like MY BABY GIRLS) have put together this site as a great resource center for Moms (and Dads of course) that is chock full of information, all while keeping this light and entertaining.

By the way I have to thank my friend and fellow blogger Steph (@sewfierce) from A Pocket Full Of Buttons for turning me on to this.

If you think this is something you’d like to participate in, then I suggest you HURRY!! Head on over to the site, and do it fast. Post, link up, check out the prizes, then PARTY LIKE A BLOG STAR!!!! (prize entries close April 8th)

There are going to be some LIVE party events, one via video simulcast and one via twitter. I’m hoping to make both, but without a doubt I’ll be a the twitter party. Twitter handle? @kodomosushi, of course! lol

So, as you can see I’m pretty excited over this. I really hope to connect with more bloggers around the blogosphere. AND? Even after UBP is over, the links will remain active, so there is still plenty of time to check out new blogs. I’ve already found some greats I’m adding to my reading list.

((yes, that’s right, I said PARTY LIKE A BLOG STAR!!!!))

ps, if this post looks a little familiar, it’s because it’s close to the post on my main/personal blog.

Happy Eats!
~Laura

This is an exciting idea and I'm looking forward to your posts. You mentioned that you'd start on April 3rd….. ;)

I have twin girls myself! They just turned 6 last month. Then I have a 5yo girl and a 6 month old girl! It's pretty fun, isn't it? We homeschool, too, so we get to spend a lot of time together.
If you have a chance, come visit me over at http://WWW.LittleLearningLovies.com where I share lots of activities and printable things for young kids to enjoy and learn from. I'll be watching out for your first how-to post. My kids LOVE sushi! So I'd love some new ideas :)

Hi! Stopping by via the UBP11. Your blog name caught my attention, as a fellow sushi lover. My brother-in-law is part Thai and part Japanese and he makes sushi for the whole family at Thanksgiving (not turkey sushi). LOL! Anyway, I hope you can visit my blog too when you get a chance.
